Publication Design

BOOK:CHAIR is an independent, multi-format publication project. I designed and built a chair that functions both as a place to sit and as a book itself. The chair adopts familiar book elements, cover, spine, colophon, and chapters, while incorporating pockets that hold two traditionally formatted books.

The first is a research publication, documenting my inquiries into the book as a form and as a cultural, multifunctional object. The second, Publish Publication, presents firsthand references and documentation from the process of designing and constructing the chair.
